Letitia Green is a self-taught creative working across multiple disciplines, including illustration, graphic design, visual art and interior design—with a focus on fashion and interiors. So it’s no surprise that the home she shares with her husband Michael and daughter Tippi is filled with bright, vibrant color in beautiful artwork, decor, and her own collaborative designs. Their home, located bayside in Melbourne, is an original 1950s modernist home, split over three levels. You enter via stairs to the front door on the middle level, with the upper level housing three bedrooms and a bathroom. Thanks to the gorgeous architecture (and plenty of huge steel windows) the views make it feel like they are living in a treehouse.

My Style: Our home style is eclectic and colorful, with a hint of mid-century modern as the home was built in the late 1950s.

Inspiration: I am inspired by all types of art and color, textures and materials, travels, photography, and modernist home and architecture. The home is filled with pieces that I have collected that inspire me or hold memories, some of my favorites being our daughter’s artwork. Although I am inspired by the minimalist approach, I am actually more maximalist in every way!

Favorite Element: The beautiful large steel windows throughout the home and the stunning views of the treetops and sky. The connection to nature.

Biggest Challenge: Funnily, the same large steel windows we so love create a challenge to keep the home warm in winter as they are drafty, and so large that they have no insulation.

What Friends Say: The home is so colorful, and a lived-in home full of character and personality. People also love the surprising views of the bay, our beautiful large green hedge and pool, and our striking Ghost Gum.

Biggest Embarrassment: The home is often a lived-in chaos. There is always so much activity happening in our home, and guests visiting or playdates, or art being made or crafted. Full life, messy home! The home also needs some love in many areas, some are hidden, and some are there for everyone to see! One day we will get to them!

Proudest DIY: The garden is a growing work-in-progress: our vegetable garden and a beautiful succulent garden that is growing steadily.

Biggest Indulgence: Travel is our passion and something we indulge in, and art is our biggest indulgence in this home. We have a collection of beautiful Aboriginal Australian paintings, original artworks, and signed prints that make our hearts sing!

Best Advice: Be yourself; your own personal style is a reflection of you, and home is where you can show people a bit of your soul.

Dream Sources: I love random op shop to find those rare one-of-a-kind pieces, and I love buying art and textiles overseas on holidays. Locally I love so many beautiful Australian designers and brands.
