Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: My building was built in 1965 and has many quirks of the era, including the original pink bathroom floor tiles and never enough outlets in places you’d expect. A true gem in southwest Minneapolis, it has ample storage, large balconies, and a quiet community feel with easy access to all the city has to offer!
I am a vintage collector and dealer, doting cat servant, plant parent, maker, and writer. I run a year round Halloween lifestyle Instagram account @halloweenhomemaker where I share how I make Halloween every day with my thrift finds, DIYs, and holiday mashups. I’m an avid decorator and specialize in tree decorating. I do a new tree every month of the year!
I am married to a music producer and PR manager for Mill City Collective. Our three cats run this place and have a lot of opinions on how to best decorate, which means there are many cozy places to hang out.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Eclectic mid-century monster
What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room is my living room because it’s spacious enough for my many trees and has a view of the balcony, which is a peaceful haven full of flowers spring and summer or decorated for holidays.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? The last thing I found was a mid-century modern chair left out by neighbors.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Surround yourself with things that bring you joy and keep things fresh by switching things out seasonally so you always have new energy flowing to keep your spirits up! Don’t worry about keeping up with anyone but yourself because you’re the one who has to look at it every day, so do what you love!
